Happy Friday, we hope you've have a fun and eventful weekend planned!
We're a tad loved up here as our grandma and grandad are celebrating their diamond wedding, yes 60years! Wowzers! Weddings back then were very different, there was not the glitz and glam of today. Taking a look through their wedding album the simplicity is stunning, it's almost thrown together to create a "make do and mend" style. Lace was the trim of choice and effortless seaming formed chic dresses.
Baring this in mind we have pulled together imagery from our Pinterest boards showing off a modern, chic twist on this outstanding beautiful simplicity.
Noting the bridal parties dresses they echo the lace feature and clean lines of a wedding back in the day but, are pieced together in newer more current shapes. Remember you don't have to go OTT to create a dream wedding.
The floral poses and button holes are inspired by make do and mend with their freshly pick from a meadow feel. Naive, raw and effortless they speak volumes.
Candles and floral arrangements are a little more extravagant on the tables but this will set your room up for the day. Keeping pieces small, positioned at different levels will create the feel of grandure without the cost.
Notably the cupcakes are following in line and are very delicate. The key here use of the correct nib, coloration and display. Show them off tall and proud to create impact and let the colour blocking do all the talking.
Colours are also key and we have chosen to show navy with ivory as this creates a bold impact. The tones of the colours compliment each other and have just the right contrast to create depth and interest on your special day.
Happy planning xx
