Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
glad you've caught our "Wedding Inspiration of the Week" on it's brand new day! Oh yes FRIDAY will be the day for our inspiring mood boards, created from our pinterest page.
Todays rather whimsical array of vintage meets afternoon cream teas has a delicate, soft toned colour palette. Frosted peach hues blend with off-whites, and ecrus to form a pretty and feminine feel. Perfect colours for a kaleidoscope of sombre bridesmaids dresses and candy cane accessories for the groomsmen.
Taking inspiration from the wedding cake below soft pastel icing creates a superb base for off white accents and details. Fulfilling a splendid vintage edge with it's own eclectic vibe.
If you are a fan of handicrafts or the home made look, collect a selection of jewels, buttons and old jewellery to form the perfect ornamental bouquet. Definitely one for all our magpie brides out there. Mix the soft natural tones with ant bronze, copper and pearl to produce a real dreamy mix.
One of the details i loved from this weeks pinterest finds is the old door knob table Number. It's quirky, stylish, perfect for a DIY bride and you'll be able to find them cheap as chips at reclamation yards or online! Helpful tip: paint the base then either sand the edges (for a shabby chic edge) or cover with a layer of crackle glaze (for a old heirloom style). Then buy MDF numbers from craft stores and paint gold. Very on trend!
For your centre pieces we're loving the 'freshly picked' approach and the 'mix and match' vases. This is a really important look right now. Another helpful tip is to sit a selection of vases on retro metal trays with tea lights. You'll form a lovely ambience not to mention showing off your enviable fashion taste :)
So go on be creative, inventive and superbly you - it'll shine throughout your special day xx

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hello to all our fabulous followers! Hasn't thursday come round so quickly! I actually can't believe bank holiday is almost here - eeekkkk. I hope you all have some lovely down time planned in.
As it is thursday we have yet more exciting imagery from our pinterest boards to hopefully inspire and excite you.
Now one colour which is creeping back into the fashion realms is mauve! The home ware stores as buzzing with it and there are many shades of lilac in the fashion boutiques. So with 50 shades of purple in mind we thought we'd pull our imagery into one helpful mood board for you. Showing dark hues to pastel tones. Purple is the new pink!
There any many lovely ways which you can incorporate your highlight colour. Cupcakes are great as you can have darker flowers on top of a lighter colour. Bridesmaid dresses and flowers are also great ways to show off your bang on trend colour choice. I love the mauve shoes below.......why not choose to have these under your bridal gown instead of the obvious white or silver, you could co-ordinate with you bridesmaid in subtle fashion.
Now lets not forget the groomsmen. Ties, waistcoats, socks or flowers are great little ways to include them in your theme.
If you struggle to choose a particular shade to follow through the whole array of the days details, mixing shades is a wonderful way to create a modern spin. Light to dark you can blend the tones so that there is a real eclectic trend to your special day. You can get a great feel for this with mixing flowers for your centre pieces and bouquets. By putting colours together you can build your confidence for other areas.
Wedding dress time! If you aren't sure what colour dress to purchase to sit in with all these warrm tones, try off white or ivory. The lovely shades of purple will look more crisp and the rich palette will have a real wow factor.
If your still unsure about how to work the colours - DON'T Panic!! Our helpful mood board will guide you along swimmingly.

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy Bugs, one huge apology for the late delivery of our "Wedding Inspiration of the Week" Fingers crossed all technical hitches are now cleared so it looks like we're good to go. yipppeeeeeeee!
As usual i have been sifting through this weeks collated imagery on our pinterest boards to bring you the newest ideas for your special day.
This week we've gone for a more afternoon tea vintage theme. Although this has been around for a little while now there are always updates on how to make this style look as fresh as a daisy.
I thought we'd start with the dress this week and i found this beauty! Gorgeous necklines and backs are so on trend right now. The front should have sheer sections with the ultra feminine sweetheart neckline. Sleeveless for our summer brides is key. Then at the back a lovely cut out back would be the icing on the cake. The styling of the dress below is also spot on, with a beautiful head piece and waistband sash. It's a lovely way to incorporate your highlight colour, just make sure its soft and delicate so that it doesn't over power your dress.

Mixed floral bouquets are also still a big request now and having the "I just picked them our of the garden" vibe is crucial to a perfect vintage pose. In the image below there are some super tones of delicate pinks and softs peaches which, form a rather stunning yet well thought out piece. Bringing in these different hues allows you to create a true vintage ambience. Using various shades is really clever and a lovely detail to incorporate into your cake, table centre pieces etc.

Speaking of cake (yummy) this beauty is divine with its ruffles and mixed roses on top. It's uneven edges create a perfect "made in granny's kitchen" vibe for your vintage-esque chic. You could mix the flowers up on top to match your bouquet, and definatly mirror the colouration for that extra va va voom. (image from queenslandbrides.blogspot.com)

The next image i located is a real view to that perfect vintage look and ways in which you can incorporate this and what colours are ideal. What a great collage! There are always certain must's which will enhance and form the connotations needed to pull off a perfect themed wedding. Chair covers, centre pieces, bouquets, bridesmaids dresses, bridal gown, cake, room accessories and highlight colours. If you blend these together you will achieve perfection. It's like making a cake :)

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hello to all our lovely Fairy Bug followers! Thanks for checking out this weeks "Wedding Inspiration of the Week" feature.
For this weeks inspiration think blossom, sorbet, icing sugar......... no i've not gone mad, it's all about soft, delicate shades of pink! Not forgetting the tones of angelic white and cream which, compliment the powdery tones effortlessly.
Now the next two pictures sum up the theme really well, so i immediately repinned them onto my pinterest boards. The main factor here is vice vercer. The bride in here opulent white or demure ivory carries the sugar pink flowers while, the bridemaids wear a powdery pink assemble carrying a mix of frosted pink and off white flowers. It's like a well painted masterpiece! Mixing your tones of pink is a lovely way to create a more "off the cuff" yet "well designed" theme. It's almost like you said "that one, that one, yeah that one and that one" and yet magically and beautifully harmonise. (Images from junebugweddings.com and stylemepretty.com)

This cake with it's array of charming cupcakes is no doubt a show stopping piece, and a rather dandy way of continuing the colour palette. Looking rather vintage in its baby pink and ivory combination you could change this to be an optic white with powdery pink for a more fresh, angelic feel. Another lovely detail in this cake is the mix and match designs and cake cases. It's the little details which you can adapt to achieve your look. (Image from brides-book.com)

Now in any wedding your centrepieces really emphasis the flavour of your special day. When your guests walk in for the wedding breakfast why not dazzle them with tall shimmering vases and a sweet ie box array of beautiful pinks, greens, whites and even a slight touch of lilac. Wowzers! A really splendid detail would be to have half of your tables with one style of display and the other half with a slightly different style i.e the vases could be different therefore you floral display shape would be. Again it's add that effortless chic to your wedding day style. (Image from mph.ie)

Now one last show stopping detail which, is always a party pleaser......Favours! We can offer you personally designed, tagged, made and delivered favours as a token of thanks for your guests! (Check out the "our products for you tab" at the top of the page). Take a look at these lovelies..... milk chocolate heart shaped lollipops. Gone on spoil your guests xx
