Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
yuck! What a wash out of a morning! Lets hope it moves of swiftly.
We have been bibbidi bobbidi boo-ing around for you this week to create a Rustic berry fuelled mood board, to inspire and possibly share themes with you that you may not have considered.
So lets begin!
There are a huge gang of vintage lovers out there, and they certainly know how to showcase the look with conviction. There are also those who the love the idea of a vintage theme but don't know how to execute the look, or choose to have a muted version of the trend. So this one is for you.
Key areas to bring the vinatge -esque details are: The flowers, stationary and if you are brave enough the dress. Now you don't need anything to out there in terms of finding that one off dress in a specialised boutique. You can however opt for the safer yet striking lace with beading options. Depending on your body shape you could go for floating long lines or for a bustier fit and flare dress. Look out for 3D florals detailing and mix and match lace. These new bang on trend features with give you the edge.
When it comes to the flowers.......be brave, mix and match to achieve the wild look. If this is a step to far then go for a mix of deep berry's with natural colours in large more statement florals such as, roses, hydrangeas, calla lilly's etc. The foliage will be key, getting the right mix is vital in showing off your vintage knowledge. If you get stuck there is amazing imagery to help on pinterest. You could print your favourites and take them with you to your florist, pointing out the main details you like.
Areas in which you can reign in the theme are the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen attire and cake. In each of these areas you can be bold on colour - so mix up the berry tones with off white or cream and look for textural fabrics for the dresses and waistcoats, such as, slub silk, waffle satins, grosgrain. They will be in keeping with your low key vintage but will not draw attention the areas so much. with regards to the cake keep it simple yet stylish! As shown below the cake has a fabulous texture to the outside, but speaks volumes with a few strategically placed flowers.
Remember be true to what you love! Instincts are great so if you get an instant feeling whether love or hate.......go with it. enjoy xx

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
hope your having a super week?! Welcome to another "Wedding inspiration of the Week" were we share with you what we've been looking at on Pinterest. We create a mood board just for you, to inspire and hopefully help you in your quest for wedding day perfection.
This weeks focus is Glamour. Classy, sophisticated, drowning in elegance, glamour, and here are a few suggestions on how yo achieve this look successfully.
Our main colour options below are tones of soft metallics mixed with optic white and either black or charcoal grey. The metallics will really bounce off crisp, clean colours a treat. When choosing outfits for your bridemaids why not select the effective embellished or sequin number as shown below. The trick is to select matt or pale tones of sequins which, could become a highlight feature in your theme. For the groomsmen try a slick suit in charcoal grey for the metallics to reflect against. Show stopping effects or what.
When choosing your special ensemble, look out for fluid lines, back details whether cut out or embellished and fullness throughout the skirt. Think 50's hollywood if your curvy and 20's elegance if your of a straighter form. Another tip is to try on dresses that you instantly think you won't like, even if it's just one.......you may surprise yourself. This could be the a key part in picking the centre stage piece for your wedding day.
Important details that really help sew your wedding day theme together are the smaller details such as the cake, stationary, table settings and favours. Try to bring a little bit of shimmering metallic into these areas. Maybe its diamanties, glitzy ribbons, colourations or motifs. Be creative and play around with ideas and colours to achieve the best combination for you. Not everything needs to be sparkly or white or even the charcoal grey. Work in a few tones of lighter grey to create a soft palette and variation. This in turn will project the crisp white and delicate metallics showcasing your glamorous Wedding day theme. Your guests will love it!
Other areas to look at to help inspire you with patterns and styling could be certain decades of fashion and print. for example, take a trip on to Pinterest and type baroque prints......this could help navigate you to a designer finish on your stationary. Remember be true to you and what you and your husband  to be love, that will shine in leaps and bounds.

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs!!
thanks for following our bibbidi bobbidi boo blog. Here at Fairy Godmother HQ we've been collating this weeks imagery to create an inspiring mood board for you.
This week our focus is inventive chic. Sounds a little odd right? Well it's basically all about classic colours which, create a reals leek chic edge and adding an almost unexpected colour pop. We've decided to show white and charcoal base with a sunflower yellow highlight. Super stylish this colour palette isn't a regular selection but really does pack a punch when showing your trendy side. If you are a style conscious chica then why not consider the below?
The groomsmen and bridesmaids will look super slick in these colours and there are various ways to bring in the yellow....... ties, buttons holes, belts, shoes, hair accessories, trims and poseys. They will look so in tune when it comes to photo time. The great thing is the colour scheme is timeless!
Taking inspiration from the images below the flowers and pom poms can bring the colour and fun side to your wedding day decor. There isn't too much of the yellow below but the trick is to choose the larger pom pom/flower and make that the yellow one. Thats were the 'pack a punch' element comes into it.
When it comes to your invites why not post them in yellow envelopes so they can't be missed but keep the actual invite its self charcoal and white so the slick chic side is loud and proud.
Don't forget about chair covers/bows and favours they are also a super way to add a pop of colour into your rooms. In these instances smaller amounts will work best. i.e small yellow bows on favours, a single flower on the centre back of each chair with a charcoal bow.
We hope this has brought inspiration to our fashion conscious brides. Happy planning xx

Wedding Quote of the Week x

“When my beautiful bride turned the corner and I saw her for the very first time, I gotta say, I got a little emotional. The eyes started getting a little watery and she just looked like an Italian princess. As she was walking towards me, I started to kinda go! And then I saw my other little princess Gia as a flower girl and it was like game over.” — Mario Lopez

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
welcome to another exciting "Wedding Inspiration of the Week". This week i'm totally loving autumn! The beautiful colours, the falling leaves, the soft crunch as you walk down the road. It's so pretty........we're lucky to be able to experience such beautiful seasonal change. It's a perfect chance to embrace nature, and steal inspiration from it.
This week we have found some great inspiration for our pinterest boards and hopefully you'll love it too.
Some of the great novelty pieces you could include in your day, if you are considering a autumnal wedding are: pumpkin card collectors, stationary with leaves incorporated, toffee apple favours, and what about sparklers for the evening. So much fun! Not to mention all the great, rich, warming colours you can choose from for your bridesmaids and grooms men.
When deciding on flowers and colour for your bouquets, try to mix it up and show off the colours of fall. Have fun with the picking of flowers. Try mixing lots of types of flowers, to get great diversity in sizes, tones and details. The natural beauty can be followed through into posey's which, will add a real sophisticated edge to your day.
Cake! A great place to add the fun of the season. Leaves, birds, flowers, embossing, succulent flavours are all great items to add into the mix. Why not accompany the cake, with fun cake pops, or macaroons in opulent colours.
If you have any outdoor space why not let your younger guests carve pumpkins before the special day and add tea lights for evening. Not your thing? Then what about garden candles in appropriate colours. oooooooo food for thought. Enjoy Autumn and let it inspire you for your special day xx
