Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
thanks for joining us for this weeks "Wedding Inspiration of the Week". We're thinking Christmas, sparkle and detail. If you are a Christmas fan and want to have a magical winter wedding then why not use a few of our ideas below and incorporate some of the fabulous details from our Mood Board.
Now when you say sparkle it doesn't have to be ultra bright and vivid, think soft almost pastel metallics. Powdery golds, shimmering silvers and effortless iridescent whites and mix them together. The key is to add these delicate metallics to certain areas (chair bows, invitations, bridesmaid dresses, favours, cake), and keep sold white, silvers, creams or a colour to the main larger areas (I.E tables, chair sash's, flower girls, flowers). With the perfect mix you'll create a real Christmas wonderland. Take inspiration from the bow on the chair below, the colouration is perfect.
There are plenty of areas were you can bring fun Christmas connotations to the table, bauble name card holders, stockings for cutlery to sit into, stag or tree decorations on the tables, baubles on the cake, christmas shapes on your wedding stationary. clear baubles full of sweets for favours. The trick is to pick maybe one or two shapes I.E snowflake & stag, then include them into some of the details above. Paired with the metallics your on your way to a bibbidi bobbidi boo Winter Wedding.
A little thought for a perfect guest book is to have a christmas tree with baubles.....your guests can write a note, draw a picture and if you leave glitter and sequins on the side, create perfect wedding baubles you can treasure forever. Without knowing it they will have decorated a Wedding Christmas tree all for you.
If you need more visual assistance we have pulled together the below imagery to inspire you. We hope you have fun with this one, Christmas is our Favourite time of year xx

Wedding......it's in the detail x

Hi Fairy bugs,
whats the best way to personalise a wedding............details! Personal, unique, creative details. Making the day about you and your husband to be, where your family and friends can absorb and enjoy your special day.
There are various ways in which, you can bring your own creative flair to your day yet incorporating your history. We came across the below image on Pinterest and we think its a fabulous idea. Every table needs a name or number, but what about a year......
the year you were born
the year you met
the year you moved in together
the year of your first holiday

we could go on and on. These maybe dates that some of your guests will know but, for others it will give them an insight into your happy ever after. Add personal photos of each of you or group shots with family and friends. Not only will they become a talking point, a lovely feature in photographs but, they will certainly add a rather touching detail to your wedding day.
Whether you place them in frames or clip them to numbers you can adapt this feature to your style. To match this you could even create a time line for your table plan, yet another quirky feature to make your day stand out.
enjoy xx

Wedding Buy of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
yes its monday but lets make it more colourful with this weeks "Wedding buy of the Week".
We have yet another spectacular find, both company and accessory! This one is more for the guests as our focus has been on fascinators. Yes the icing on the cake for most ensembles and a great way to add that bridal touch for a special day. They really create an edge and add a sense of occasion.

Crammed to the rafters of stylish accessories this online boutique needs to be a must on your bridal hit list. A Tale of a Glitz and Glam evening x

Hi Fairy bugs,
hope your having a great weekend? Did you manage to attend the Glitz and Glam Charity evening at Bolton School on friday? We did...........and were blown away by the dazzling array of designer dresses, exciting products on offer and were serenaded by some outstanding singers. With the bubbles flowing and the lighting set just right, we knew we were in for a treat.
Organised by The Wedding Rooms very own Award winning hair stylist Emma, to raise money for Bolton's Neo natal unit the night drifted through effortlessly and it was a real pleasure to be invited.
Talking a seat in the front row of the red carpet we excitedly awaited the exclusive range of David Tutera for Mon Cheri bridal gowns to drift down the catwalk. Then it begins...........
Extremely giddy, the music starts, and the models begin their walk, partnered with a groom who was sporting rather stylish suits from the one and only John Francis. One after the other they sashayed towards the guests, and with murmers of a variety of gasps this collection was certainly well received. The detailing is exquisite, the styles are chic, and for any bride to be these dress would certainly add the bibbidi bobbidi boo to your special day. You will feel like a million dollars in one of these outstanding designs.
A little breathless of ooooooing and aaaaahhhing, it was time to meet all the fabulous businesses who had come to support the evening. Jewellery to lingerie, cupcakes to cake, personal trainers to teeth whitening, photography to singers and much much more. There was certainly a stand for every detail of your wedding, where you can network and find some great products. So as your Fairy Godmother we thought it only fitting to create a little list for you:

Once again showcased to perfection the models almost waltzed down the red carpet in their sparkly delights which, the audience fell in love with. If your looking for a black tie event dress or something for a ball, prom, charity event etc you really must not miss out on this collection.
In a rather blurry cloud 9 sort of state we were serenaded by 2 outstanding performances. "Out of the blue" a rather fun, easy listen, swing male duo act who create a toe tapping, head bopping feel good factor and, "Chemisha" a dreamy, delicate solo artist who's performances were seamless. Certainly a lovely feature for the evening.

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy Bugs,
Welcome welcome welcome to this weeks "Wedding Inspiration of the week".
As the winter is definitely upon us we thought it fitting to share with you some of the more seasonal worthy imagery from our pinterest boards. Bibbidi bobbidi boo........
Setting the scene......Black, cream and muted shades of gold. OOOOOOOOOOO, it's the glamorous christmassy side to Weddings. We've found some great ideas to help you on your quest to Wedding Day dreaminess.
Now we're not endorsing you dress everyone in black with gold trim, or even dressing your bridal party in head to toe gold. We've thought the image below was rather beautiful, with the bridemaids in their mocha-esque dresses with their cream flowers, touched with delicate details of gold. The complimentary warm tones of the bridesmaids dresses enhance the ivory bridal gown exquisitely. Now for the groomsmen, the hint of gold satin here is a treat, showcasing the sophisticated gentlemanly style perfect for a magical day.
Floral elements should have subtle contrast colours with majority in cream to promote the softer side of the theme. Gold vases can make a real statement but remember less is more, for impact.
The cake is a real magical piece and will certainly be present in your wedding album, so it's best to get it right. The cake below is absolutely perfect and shows how to use a bold colour palette in a stylish way. Ordinarily a gold cake would raise eyebrows but this stunner is fabulous to due the right balance.
Ideas for perfect details are shown in the stationary and the birdcage. Subtle hints of gold on the prominent black and cream will enhance your wedding day a treat.
The important thing is to pick things the details you love xx

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
hope you've had a super week? It's ffrrriiddaaayyy not that we're excited at all :)
Welcome to new followers. On friday we share with you our Wedding inspiration of the week with imagery collated from our pinterest boards, positioned into one easy to read mood board just for you. Yes thats right, a little bibbidi bobbidi boo, and away we go.......
This week we wanted to share a rather delicious plum and ivory theme with you. Deep, rich plum hues that ooze class and chic with a creamy, warm hue of ivory. Think cookies and cream, a delightful combination rather pleasing to the eye were, the colours empower each other and create a vivid colour scheme.
If you take a glance at the images below (especially the floral ones) you will see how striking the colours can be, and how effortlessly they create a huge impact. It's about having the right mix, clean looking flowers and delicate amounts of foliage. Mixing the plum shades should be natural rather than picking 4 or 5 different shades. You'll be certain to keep the elegance and clean lines if you reduce the number of colours for this theme.
With regards to groomsmen and bridesmaids, this os a perfect theme to be matchy matchy. They can compliment other by dress to tie or sash to waistcoat.......dreamy! If your a bride who isn't into one colour and you want to mix it up abit why not have a narrow sash made (as shown in the image below) which, will add a sublime contrast to your attire but will marry you all together.
Chair covers and bows, favours, table plans stationary will all look divine in these colours. Bringing a rather special edge to your day. From the moment you send your save the dates the scene will be set. Then when your guests arrive, they will be so impressed with your stylish day.
If you need more ideas feel free to check the archive for previous weeks mood boards. Also if you are loving this weeks inspiration but need more ideas contacts us at the-fairygodmother@hotmail.com

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
brrrrrr hasn't it gone cold! Winters definitely on it's way! So while it's raining and blowing an absolute gail outside we know our lovely brides to be will be busily creating and planning their special day, and as your Fairy Godmother we've been forming this weeks mood board from our pinterest pages.......yes collated and organised just for you........so here goes :)
Black and white fabulousness is this weeks focus. Striking, classy, chic and a little bit gorgeous, these 2 simple colours create a real sense of uber glam in a rather sophisticated manor. Add a touch of glitz and bibbidi bobbidi boo there's a perfect wedding theme for you.
Let's jump right in with the important bits. The Cake (yum yum). We adore the image below of the lace effect cake. What a show stopping piece! The slick black detail on the fondant white is a beaut! Why not pair it up with bride and groom cake pop favours.....too cute for words. They'll bring a talking point to your tables and we're sure they pop up in a few pictures.
Invites are a key feature as they set the scene for the day to come. Check out the ornate detailing on the invites below.....#lovethem. You could follow this well thought out detailing on your table plan, name cards, thank you cards etc. Also we really adore the initials on the centre of the invite.....what a gorgeous finishing touch.
Now flowers aren't everyones cup of tea so why not consider this.......tall vases with floating candles and lace detailing as shown below. You could even add black crystals into the bottom of the vases for an extra summit summit. Not loving the thought of a fresh flower bouquet, thats ok.......why not go all hollywood glitz and glam with your very own plush bouquet? Collect old brooches, necklace ornaments evening earrings and collate them in to one fabulous piece. The lovely thing is that you can treasure it forever and it'll never fade. You could do the same for bridemaids so they have a special piece to treasure.
Now for the attire. Chic, stylish and uniformed, the bridal party below are a real photographers dream. The black outfits not only enhance the bride and her dress but will wow the guests when they walk down the isle. If this is a bit too formal, pick different dresses for the bridesmaids but in the same colour. Even add a lovely sash or belt to break up the solid block of colour. It's very hard to go wrong with 2 colours that were created to compliment each other.
This will certainly bring the va va voom to your speical day xx

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs!
Hope you had a fun even of trick or treating. If not i hope you managed to have a few cheeky treats yourself!
In the midst of the wicked and wonderful, thoughts of the mystical more fairytail like dreaminess comes to light. "Once upon a time"..........the princess like wedding most little girls dream of, and with an array of darling imagery popping up on Pinterest we wanted to share this with you.
Lets start with the dress. Big is bold and beautiful but, you don't have to go grand scale. You can opt for layering, textures, and soft lines as shown in the photo below. You still achieve the dreamy look without having the difficulty of a dome shaped dress. Textures and layers are going to be huge so keep your peepers peeled for these fabulous details.
Cakes are a great place to create your fairy tail and when we saw the cake below we had to share it! Stunning with its baby blue diamantie detail, set on a bed of 3D florals, this cake shows how one colour with a hint of sparkle can be truly effective. If your not into 1 large cake, why not have tiers of cupcakes or cake pops. You can still incorporate the beautiful detailing.
Now to stationary and accessories for the day. Look for flowing, curly, romantic text! Text really does have a huge impact on the connotations you create. Take inspiration from the invites below: banner detailing, different scales of text, soft colours, textural paper/card. Also the wax seal is a really special finish. Why not get a stamp with your initials on to seal your invites. Love it!
Nowadays there are lots of signs and accessories to pick up to decorate with. If you love signage why not opt for cute details like the below image to bring a bit of "happily ever after" to your day.
Table decorations are a great place to form that romantic, dreamy, princess like wedding look. Floral displays should be big and bold, with pearls and diamanties thrown into the mix. Lighting (candles) will also add to the theme creating a soft ambience. Formal table settings will also help boost and complete the look. Take a look at the image below for one way of creating a bibbidi bobbidi boo wedding xx

Wedding Inspiration of the Week x

Hi Fairy bugs,
yuck! What a wash out of a morning! Lets hope it moves of swiftly.
We have been bibbidi bobbidi boo-ing around for you this week to create a Rustic berry fuelled mood board, to inspire and possibly share themes with you that you may not have considered.
So lets begin!
There are a huge gang of vintage lovers out there, and they certainly know how to showcase the look with conviction. There are also those who the love the idea of a vintage theme but don't know how to execute the look, or choose to have a muted version of the trend. So this one is for you.
Key areas to bring the vinatge -esque details are: The flowers, stationary and if you are brave enough the dress. Now you don't need anything to out there in terms of finding that one off dress in a specialised boutique. You can however opt for the safer yet striking lace with beading options. Depending on your body shape you could go for floating long lines or for a bustier fit and flare dress. Look out for 3D florals detailing and mix and match lace. These new bang on trend features with give you the edge.
When it comes to the flowers.......be brave, mix and match to achieve the wild look. If this is a step to far then go for a mix of deep berry's with natural colours in large more statement florals such as, roses, hydrangeas, calla lilly's etc. The foliage will be key, getting the right mix is vital in showing off your vintage knowledge. If you get stuck there is amazing imagery to help on pinterest. You could print your favourites and take them with you to your florist, pointing out the main details you like.
Areas in which you can reign in the theme are the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen attire and cake. In each of these areas you can be bold on colour - so mix up the berry tones with off white or cream and look for textural fabrics for the dresses and waistcoats, such as, slub silk, waffle satins, grosgrain. They will be in keeping with your low key vintage but will not draw attention the areas so much. with regards to the cake keep it simple yet stylish! As shown below the cake has a fabulous texture to the outside, but speaks volumes with a few strategically placed flowers.
Remember be true to what you love! Instincts are great so if you get an instant feeling whether love or hate.......go with it. enjoy xx
