Weddings......it's in the detail x

Hi fairy bugs,
Hope you've had a lovely bank holiday and managed to get a little glimpse of sunshine. If not don't worry let us take your mind off the weather with a yummy little treat which, would be perfect for pre wedding breakfast nibbles. Oooooo partial!
We came across this novelty idea while pinning on our Pinterest boards! Now previously we shared with you mini beers and burgers.......now if your not an all american foody and need something with a bit more sass and edge then how about mini patron and tacos. They're feverishly quaint but can't have as much bite as required, bringing the spice and flavour from South America! If patron is not your drink then why not change it to a shot or mini cocktail? You'll still get the fruity essence. If you love a little bit of mexicana you could always opt for a cheeky mini burrito or fajita? Add mini flags for maximum impact.......and just absolute cuteness!
If your going all out get printed napkins with bride and groom initials or imagery on. Now that's a nice little touch you don't see at every wedding!
Remember....No matter what your favourite food, there is a perfect mini option for all. Happy planning xx

Weddings......it's in the detail x

Hi fairy bugs,
It's already Wednesday and have a sweet treat for this weeks 'Weddings.....it's in the detail'! Not neccessarily everyone's first thought when it comes to favours or yummy treats strategically position for guests to devour.....but never the less they look super cute, will have your guests wanting more and will give you a fun edge from cupcakes, macaroons and cake pops.
Now if you love a Krispy cream then these beauties will be right up your street! Mini doughnut favours........yipeeeeee......and iced to be precise! We completely fell in love with the wrapping, mini bows and how the cheeky little darlings pop out of their packaging. Sweet Temptation.........nuff said!
Or if your not a lover of the iced variety pick your favourite! We have a guilty pleasure for the classic...... jam filled with sugary naughtiness on top. And yes it's the fun old habit of trying not to lick your lips until the end! Your guests will go gags for these! Don't forget fun signs, Alice in Wonderland style for an encouraging angle......'Eat me'....... 'Yummy'......... 'Try me'.
Happy planning xx

Now if your planning a sizzling summer wedding then we have a buy......well rather hire.........of the week for you. Now there's a few things you need to know about this weeks pick

3) your guests will be super excited when they see it

You can hire Florence and treat your guests to ice cream and sorbets of the highest standard which, can be served in scrummy cones or beautifully quaint tubs. Even those with a picky palette won't want to miss out on this!
She's a popular wedding addition so be sure to contact Polly's parlour ASAP for availability. Just think after the I do's you can relax with a delicious ice cream while mingling with guests.......aahhhhhhhhhh nice times.

Wedding inspiration of the week x

Hi fairy bugs,
It's time for a little more Bibbidi bobbidi boo........with a blue hue for you! Yes we're rhyming and it's cheesy but who can blame us with a sunny weekend ahead! We're too excited for words! If your getting married this weekend make sure your guests pop a good factor on......they'll need it :)
Now we now we've brought blue hues to you previously but today's idea is a little different. Soft, powdery, slightly grey in tone but perfectly pretty for those spring/summer weddings, offering up a more delicate, whimsical feel. Teaming this pastel shade with creams, white, almost there olives and barely nude picks offers a delicate, relaxing, sophisticated edge.
In fact if you make do and mend, are having a wedding in a quaint village or love quaint chic why not consider this as a colour palette? A move on from the candy pastels, there's certainly a more grown up appeal here.
The dressing of the wedding party is a fun time and there's still a love for all bridesmaids to wear the same colour.......slightly different styling would add a fresher approach. You can do this by rank, age or shape, the results......magnifique! Not forgetting the groomsmen, shimmering greys will set the aged pastels nicely. We're loving the eclectic mix of flowers and colours for the pins. They echoe the bouquet beautifully. A helpful hint....... If your not a florist (as most of us aren't) then find images you love with flowers you adore and share them with your florist for them to create the perfect floral accents. You can always see mock ups first!
Let's talk cake...........yummy. There's a lot of ombré cakes sneaking through the season and to be honest.........we're in love with them! Especially when the inside has a colourful tint. Not only do they look tre chic they are gorgeous when cut too! If you supply little clear cake boxes for your guests to save for later, they will be a little box of happiness showcasing their stylistic details when your guests choose to devour them. Another little hint is having an essence of a slightly more unusual flavour in your cake.i.e rose water. Your guests won't be expecting it, but will love it all the same.
With a Devine palette and wardrobe all set keeping the stationary clean, colour blocked with slightly rustic font will work a treat in complimenting your theme. Try a few and see what tickles your fancy.......mock ups are a great way to achieve perfection.
With that in mind we'll let you plan away.....let your imagination be free. If your unsure of any of your ideas create your very own mood board and see your ideas flourish. Happy planning xx

Weddings......it's in the detail x

Hi fairy bugs,
We hope your having a lovely week and especially as it looks like the sun is going to be shining in the latter half! How exciting! If your getting married over the next few months why not email us your theme and ideas to share with others? Your wedding could be a super source of inspiration to other budding brides. You can contact us at the-fairygodmother@hotmail.com
So back you this weeks 'weddings.......it's in the detail' feature, we're a little bit in love with the whole bridal story.....that is you're story......how you met, where you've been, things you've done and the proposal. Why not create a bridal newspaper for your guests to browse through on arrival? They can keep it as a special momento of the day and what's more they could even be included in it! You could even do a who's who section so guests who may not be too familiar with family members can find out who's the sister, cousin etc and strike up a conversation. These hot of the press pieces could also be a nice ice breaker for some.
On the other hand these could make a great thank you gift after your special day. The front page could have a catchy headline and you could fill it with great shots of the day. You could also include special thanks to bridesmaids, groomsmen, family etc. it's a great way for guests to see some of your wedding snaps which, you may not have chosen for your album. You may also have some really great shots of guests mid laugh, dancing or just having a super time........share them, you're guests will love it! Also if printed in colour they will be great to frame! Who doesn't love an added extra :) a bit of a 2for is always a bonus!!
Happy planning xx

Wedding buy of the week x

Hi fairy bugs,
Good weekend? We hope all planning is going swimmingly and all the excitement is building ready for your magical day.
This week we thought we'd focus on a detail for outdoor decoration. Basically we heard the weather report and it's supposed to be getting warmer and brighter.......so with this in mind we're thinking there's hope for costa del England and a happy hot summer. Wishful thinking maybe but even if our traditional showers do appear today's buy can still look beautiful in conservatories, garden rooms, pagodas etc.
Lanterns and hurricane vases are a fantastic way of adding mood lighting and making outdoor or additional rooms as previously mentioned look that little bit more special. We've selected these stunning antique silver cut work hurricane vases from Nordic house. The candle light can dance and glimmer throughout the night in these romantic designs. They're stunningly detailed and will create a perfect ambience. They're priced at £169.95 for a set of 3. Now don't panic if this may seem a little bit out of budget especially is your envisaging quite a few strategically placed......we have an idea.......sell them on. eBay/etsy/local papers/car boots, perfect for selling any additional wedding bits and bobs you may not wish to keep. So why not treat yourself and your guests to mood enhancing lighting.
So where are they from we hear you ask. Wellllllllllllll.............a great site called Nordic house! Full of unique, well designed interiors, we hope you'll love it as much as us! If you loving the thought of dimly lit summer or winter evenings then Nordic house have a fantastic selection of hurricane vases no matter what your theme, style or price range take a look here nordichouse
Happy shopping xx

Wedding inspiration of the week x

Hi fairy bugs,
the weekend is upon us and wedding season is in full force! If you planning your wedding then catch up with us and our weekly ideas and inspiration features.
This week we're taking a side step from our mood boards and are sharing with you our favourite bridal picks from the SS15 catwalks. Helpful hints on what to look out for to be a bang on trend, stylista bride.
This season we have seen everything from chic simplicity to powerful silhouettes, 3d florals to understated embellishment. No Matter what shape, size, height or whatever your preferred style is there is inspiration for everyone. We've picked 3 of our favourite fabulous fashion goddesses and some of their key dream dresses to inspire you. so lets take a peek......

Jenny Packham.....

Fluid lines, retro glamour and exquisite detailing. Jenny Packham's dresses ooze femininity and style. Off the shoulder styling is certainly a key feature for the season and creates beautiful lines. Embellishment is also making a rather prominent come back and shown at its best on the above dresses.   The nod to grecian styling is perfect if your looking for a more linear look shown perfectly in the image above.

Vera Wang.....

Whimsical with a slightly bohemian edge. Vera wang showcases the crucial plunging necklines, cami bodice, and subtle detailing. Shape and cut is vital here and really makes the dresses stand out. The mix of satin and tulle on the lower 2 images is edgy and chic while the panelling on image 1 is a more sophisticated way of achieving that almost Carry Bradshaw coolness.

Lela Rose.....

Sublime simplicity at its best. Working the plunge neckline into her collection and even offering up a 2 for as shown in image 1. These are super examples of working key trends into Bridal wear. We're also loving the way the detail is muted and understated but radiates chic fashion know how! If your wanting to achieve sleek feminine naivety then this is how to do it.

We hope we've got your creative mind flowing remember be inspired, be creative, be you! happy planning with a bit of bibbidi bobbidi boo xx

There are best buys, ideas and mood boards including super dooper contacts from events attended.
Well without further ado lets get sharing this weeks inspiration. We've pinned this little beauty on our Pinterest 'wedding details' board. If you planning on serving up delicate little canapés after your nuptials, then how about beefing them up with mini beers and burgers! Don't worry if you have fussy guests why not consider mini chicken burgers or spicy bean burgers..........there's always away of catering for everyone! Follows these up with mini sweet potato fries and your onto a winner. Your guests with be drooling like babies for these bad boys and will undoubtably be extremely greatful for the choice.
If your really on your A game then how about personalized napkins with a little note on them? After all nobody wants greasy finger marks appearing on their frocks and suits.......especially if there's little-uns running around!
We hope that's tickled your taste buds and switched on those creative light bulbs. Happy planning xx

Wedding inspiration of the week x

Hi fairy bugs,
It's Friday of yet another bank holiday weekend! Exciting. Good luck to happy couples who are getting married this weekend.
At TFG HQ we're loving lilac. A pretty, powdery hue that softens a colour palette but seems to have a warming slightly country feel to it.
We've been collating data all week to bring you a mood board of details that are easily achieved. Sweet offerings always go down well.....why not offer your guests retro mints with your names inside, handcrafted cupcakes with beautiful colours or even tonal macaroons. Whether favours or displayed sweet temptations, your guests will love them! Make sure you ask a member of the bridal party to save you and your groom a few cheeky ones.
Crisp white detailing will really make the colour pop. As bride you will look outstanding in white with a harem of lilac dressed bridesmaids. Flowers should be minimal and wild and displaying them in random jars and vases as shown below will accentuate your creative thinking. Mixing dress styles is always a plus when showing off your fashion styling too! Why not encourage mums and grandmas to dress in slightly different tones of purple or to accessorize in the hue...... Making them a defining part of your theme.
Stationary as always is key but looking at the below there is only a touch of lilac with delicate pattern keeping the invites formal but slightly whimsical. Having initials centrally placed is a great idea and could be carried through the day on signs, notes and decorations. If your a fan of bunting why not create your own regal-esque version.
Have a lovely weekend full of planning and inspiration....Bibbidi bobbidi boo xx
